Does the car smell musty? Try it. It's not bad but takes patience

I really liked that this product came with instructions, although I watched a few YouTube videos before even ordering this product. I didn't realize it came with a torx screwdriver. This L-shaped tool is very handy. All the videos from others complain about how difficult the process is without them and this product contains them. Also, this little orange tool is very handy. I am a woman and my nails are not very long, I like to keep them neat. With this orange tool, you don't have to worry about your nail breaking. This took about 45 minutes. I'm pretty handy around the house sometimes, but it wasn't bad. I actually had to contort my body in several undignified positions. I feel like I mostly did yoga with Elon Musk and maybe did some abs as well. I used a floor mat under my knees when getting the clips out from under the glove box. Then to pull out the sidebar I did the same. I actually had to put my head where my feet would normally go and my feet were the headboard and be careful to recline and slide the passenger seat all the way back to do this with a torx screwdriver. Another tip: Before using this screwdriver, you need to disconnect the wires, and the detachable part of the plastic tool is incredibly handy for that. I don't know, without that lever most people would have enough finger strength to do it. When you pull out these filters, the first one pulls out easily and I even use a tool to pull it out because it was a little difficult. The second filter had to be lifted up and taken out with the tongue. When I reassemble everything it is very important not to skip the step to reattach the wires to the terminals or you will hear your rattling. In general, I feel like I really did something, and the cabin filter was the source of the smell in my car. Presumably, HEPA filters only need to be changed every three years, but we'll see. We've had a pretty wet spring where I live and I've only had the car for about a year and a half. Those were the original filters that supposedly need to be changed every two years. I am a 5ft 6 inch female and I feel sorry for men who are taller. You had to really twist your body to get into the right position to do this. I will say that this is not the fault of the manufacturer of these air filters, it is simply the design of the machine. I really like that they include two very useful tools to complete this project.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Easy to repair
