Perfect gear for going 1x with a stock cassette, I had my doubts, but once I got it on the trail I was blown away! The crank arms are sturdy but light, and I don’t feel like I’ve lost any climbing ability going from stock 3x to this 1xUpdate: took my bike out yesterday to an area with more serious climbs, and could tell it was harder to climb, was wishing I had a smaller chain ring in front. That don’t mean I dislike this crank set now, I still love it, but I would look into matching it with a new cassette that has better gearing. That being said I beat the heck out of my bike yesterday with 100% confidence in this crank set! I love it
