Review on Tripp Lite Portable Inverter PINV1000 by Amrozi Goodall

This 1000w 12v inverter is the most powerful I have ever used. There is no 12V power connection here, it connects directly to the battery. It was really easy to set up and I firmly anchored it to the ground with the included anchor points on the unit to keep it from moving. The on/off switch is located near the outlets and is easy to find and can be turned on or off with a simple touch when needed. This unit is powerful enough to charge 2 laptops and also to power any modern 120v devices I plan to take with me. The 5V USB output feels nice and can charge phones as well as larger devices like iPads. In general the design is good. it is mainly anodized aluminum and steel. There is a fan but not too loud. I couldn't draw too much current to overload this device, but there is an alarm to warn you so you don't damage the device. The 1000w inverter is on the bottom of their larger inverters, but I just don't have the space or use for a 3000w inverter. I can see how it would be better for an RV or anywhere you need more power. 1000 watts is just over 8 amps, which is enough for me in my mid-size car. The inverter is quite thick, but it should fit under most truck seats if you plan to mount it there. The heatsinks get hot under heavy use, but I've never noticed them get very hot. This is definitely something to keep an eye on for your app just to make sure it doesn't overheat where you installed it. As far as reliability goes, it's rock solid. I've never had it not work or even had a small problem with it. Tripp Lite products have always impressed me with their quality at an affordable price. Not cheap but definitely not overpriced and if you buy a cable or device from them it will last you for years with normal use. I am very satisfied with this 1000W inverter.
