I've tried several external DVD-RW drives. They ranged from "you get what you pay for" models to well-known high-end brands that either never worked well or quickly failed. This seems very well constructed and works very well. I really like the sturdy case which makes it sit securely on your desk. It's also a lot less noisy than any others I've used. I recommend it if you've had problems with other DVD-RWs you might be using. This is a very good drive in this price range. I'll keep an eye on performance over time and come back to this review if the drive turns out to be less commendable than I've described, but for now I'm very happy with this drive.
