First I had an Intermatic "heavy duty" timer that exceeded 140Β°C in the fork area . Degrees Fahrenheit when used with a 15 amp baseboard heater. So I bought this one which ran into the same problem. As such, the temperature of the exit heater plug ranged from 98 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. So it wasn't the outlet or the plug. It was that timer. For some reason it is not suitable for 15 amp heaters. I'm still looking for a 24 hour timer to hook up my 15 amp slope/fin heater to so it doesn't run 24/7.
