They cost a little more but perform significantly better than standard. Although I had to change the mounting position slightly according to the instructions because the hole pattern was different than the old ones that came when the door was installed, they worked smoothly and efficiently from the start. The door now opens with minimal effort and closes gently, allowing you to enter the home without bumping into anyone along the way. The door now also locks every time it is closed. Something that didn't exist before. The touch-to-hold-open function works well but reveals a single problem. Only one closer has a touch, the other doesn't hold. Since my door is all glass and heavy, this puts noticeable pressure on the door jamb bracket and its screws. I would like to see a holding option for both closers to distribute the weight between them. Knowing that the hold-open feature is of limited use, I'll probably find a way to open it when needed to prevent a possible failure. Overall I would say the closers work very well and would buy them again if needed.
