Works, closes very gently. I think I like it so far.

It works a little differently, while other closers pull the door very gently at the beginning and then slam it shut in the last 10 inches to make the doorknob work, this closer closes gently to the end and starts tighter but not too heavy. I think I like it so far. The door is then locked. It had a paint defect where a small dot was not colored green. QC should have caught it. If the paint is peeling, this is the place to start. I need to replace three other door closers so I am considering…

Pros
  • SIMPLE SOLUTION - Just keep pushing the door. The locking button releases automatically and the door retracts like the head of a sleepy turtle. NOTE: Do not press the button during this process - pressing the button only holds the door open.
Cons
  • Unsafe

Works great in door closers

They cost a little more but perform significantly better than standard. Although I had to change the mounting position slightly according to the instructions because the hole pattern was different than the old ones that came when the door was installed, they worked smoothly and efficiently from the start. The door now opens with minimal effort and closes gently, allowing you to enter the home without bumping into anyone along the way. The door now also locks every time it is closed. Something…

Pros
  • FOR SINGLE DOOR USE (only one door closer has a touch button) - Easy installation for new doors - Watch our video on the easy installation process
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Much better than our Anderson Storm.

Update: About a month later these things started behaving the same as the closers that came with it. The door closes 80% instantly and the last 20% softly. Got another pair under warranty and they lasted a few months before returning so I gave up. I found that when I removed one (there were 2 on the door) everything was fine. Not great but okay. Let's fast forward. We moved last year and I just installed a new front door. Same problem. Decided to do some more research. There are two types of…

Pros
  • SOFT CLOSING - Patented soft-closing technology eliminates the thump of a closing door and allows for an easy walk-through.
Cons
  • Good but not great
