I just received it yesterday and so far I'm happy with the product. I'm a youth minister and I take minors on various trips so I need scans of things like insurance cards and I've tried to use a copier in an office a long way from our youth room. It seemed like a good option. It's fairly cheap and you get what you pay for, but once it's set up the scans are crisp and I can read the information on the cards. There are two features to be aware of. 1) It needs to be calibrated to get a clear picture, but there is no "Calibrate" button in the program that comes with the device. On Windows 10, you need to go to the Printers and Scanners control panel settings. From there, click DocketPORT 667, Management, Scanner Properties, Properties, Advanced (tab) and then you will see a Calibrate button. They mention it on the website, but it's in the FAQ section and you have to scroll down in the Settings section. Also, the list of steps isn't entirely accurate, although it's pretty typical in my experience. 2) If you want to use it to scan ID cards and similar, you'd better use the scanner program that comes with Windows 10. I know people are complaining about W10, but the device's bundled software has no ID setting and no custom size setting. All size settings apply to envelopes and postcards, and scanning will leave you with a lot of material that you'll need to crop later. When you use the W10 program, it just scans the card and nothing else. However, you must feed him horizontally. In summary, this can be a good scanner for things like envelopes and ID cards if you're willing to play around with it a bit. If you need something for high-quality images and out-of-the-box, you should probably look elsewhere.
