I bought this pan for a 1997 GMC Suburban K1500. I towed a 6,000-pound, 26-foot trailer from Virginia Beach to Martinsville, Virginia, and it kept the transmission oil temperature below 200 degrees all the way up into the mountains. Apparently, having arrived in the mountains, at low speed we encountered large hills, which did not allow air to flow properly through the cooling tubes, and the temperature rose to 250-275. I would have preferred it a little deeper as the cooling tubes take up a lot of space in the sump so you really can only add an extra liter of fluid and not upgrade to an extra 'deep' transmission filter. Good job at a good price and I was completely satisfied with the purchase. I was lucky enough to buy a second one for my other Suburban. Another important issue: it's worth adding this to your car just for the sake of the drain plug, which GM doesn't seem to think is necessary. Definitely makes future fluid and filter changes a lot easier and less messy! Newer models also offer a temperature measurement port, which I didn't get on the first model.
