so after 3 years of fighting leaks I put this pot right where it belongs - in the trash. When I first opened the box I was fed up because the metal seemed thin and fragile and my first thought was to return it. I had to listen to my intuition.

I bought this pan for a 1997 GMC Suburban K1500. I towed a 6,000-pound, 26-foot trailer from Virginia Beach to Martinsville, Virginia, and it kept the transmission oil temperature below 200 degrees all the way up into the mountains. Apparently, having arrived in the mountains, at low speed we encountered large hills, which did not allow air to flow properly through the cooling tubes, and the temperature rose to 250-275. Works well. There were a few issues with the supplied gasket. This WILL NOT WORK if you have an off-road Y-tube. Not sure about the original Y-pipe for the 2006 Silverado.

Don't waste your time and money. Took out the old parts and tried to install this one only to find it didn't fit the gearbox they advertised. I have a 4L60E, it was too small and didn't fit properly, waste of time taking it all apart just put it back together. In addition, when I received the item, one of the corners was bent and the inside of the pot had chipped paint from the impact. The box it came in was fine.

I think you will have more experience if you have shallow 4l60e sump. I have a deep pan and the tubes are up against the filter and the gasket won't go flush. I took a piece of wood and a BFH and bent the tubes to give enough clearance and eventually got them to fit. This "special coating" immediately flakes off when it begins to bend. It's heavy because of the extra tubes, but not that thick, the pan flexes when you tighten the drain plug. Also, the front of the pipe holes are right next to…
