Review on Legion Stonehenge Watercolor Inches L21 SQH140WH912 by Gelin Battle

Incredible shit - rips and creases like crazy

Not suitable for professional watercolor painting. As far as I know Stonehenge makes high quality paper so I don't know what happened to this notebook. Even if left on the pad, the paper will curl like crazy. Once wet - even after it has completely dried - it is impossible to peel off the pad without tearing and severely stretching the paper. THIS. Spending hours on a painting just to get it off the block. I've also tried removing the paper from the pad first and then stretching it out on a wooden drawing board. The paper will ALWAYS tear when you try to remove it from the backing. Really very frustrating. Don't waste time. Buy an Arches pad. Even some of the cheaper name brand pads are better than these.

Pros
  • Wet on wet or wet on dry, it has a remarkable clarity that anchors beautiful work in any task and technique
Cons
  • Large and unwieldy
