Now my favorite watercolor paper

Now my favorite watercolor paper. It's really very smooth and it's easy to get fine details. But it is also very easy to remove the paint. I adjusted some stats quickly and easily by removing the Paynes Gray after drying for 24 hours! Wonderful paper! Arches are a struggle for me to work comparatively. Very happy to find this paper. I will get more!

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for hold and durability
Cons
  • Only available in black

Beautiful paper in watercolor paper

I'm definitely the type of person who goes through paper like crazy and wanted to find a new brand (I've since experimented with different brands and products to see what I like to use). my first water block, but I'm not afraid of watercolor paper. I have used several mediums on this paper such as ink, watercolor, gouache and alcohol based markers and they all worked great on it and the paper held up very well. The paper is pleasant to the touch and withstands large amounts of water. — Who I…

BEAUTIFUL PAPER: Watercolor paper

Excellent quality, 100% cotton, pleasant to the touch. The label says the pack contains 15 sheets. But I only have 11 leaves. (I counted the pages 4 times just to double check.) I don't know if this imperfection is "common" but I still give the paper 5 stars! The papers were "sealed" on all sides and each piece had to be divided into 4 pages instead of the usual one. The company has 3000 different papers. And if one of them doesn't suit your needs, they say they will make it for you! Well I'm…

Incredible shit - rips and creases like crazy

Not suitable for professional watercolor painting. As far as I know Stonehenge makes high quality paper so I don't know what happened to this notebook. Even if left on the pad, the paper will curl like crazy. Once wet - even after it has completely dried - it is impossible to peel off the pad without tearing and severely stretching the paper. THIS. Spending hours on a painting just to get it off the block. I've also tried removing the paper from the pad first and then stretching it out on a…

Pros

Cons

Great for colored pencils

I just ordered this product based on reviews from some YouTube artists. I have to admit I fell madly in love with him. The grit is slightly smoother than HP Fabriano Artistico but allows for many layers of colored pencils to be applied. I'd say the texture is more like Strathmore Bristol Vellum but with the benefit that you can saturate it with a first coat of watercolor, ink or Faber-Castell Pitt art brushes. I've only used it with my Faber-Castell Polychromos. about the FC Albrecht Dürer…

Pros
  • Great for blending, highlighting and masking

UPDATE: I've been using Stonehenge Aqua hot press paper for about a year now and have gotten very used to using it in my illustrative work. I slightly adjusted my technique to account for the very smooth, slightly delicate surface and the fast drying time of the paper. The effort was definitely worth it and I am very satisfied with the performance of this hot printing paper. I've decided to update my review here and also add some photos of my illustrations drawn on it to show what I've been…
