Review on & Other Stories by Christopher Landeros

Swedish based webstore & Other Stories is a fairly new online shop that sells different kind of fashion items. I came across them by browsing through net-a-porter's website and since they are not available in my country I decided to take a look at their page. At first sight, the design looks great! Dark pink, black lettering with some white words accompanying it. Everything looked sleek and clean - something I really like. The site itself works fine too but there are two general problems with it during purchase: One general problem which affects the whole site is that you can't choose your currency (which means if your currency isn't SEK you're forced to pay in dollars). We all know that PayPal is giving really bad rates for SEK (approx. 10 % less than the market rate) so you end up paying more or getting less money for your payment because of it. I don't understand why this much talked about site doesn't use fixed currency...



I did get through the checkout process but only to see what kind of means they use for payment - which were PayPal & Credit Card, nothing more... So you do still have to go through the whole thing even if you would like to pay with your bank account or something else while having your money in some different currency than SEK. Maybe next time when'm not in such a hurry I'll try to go through the whole thing again b/c what they have is really nice! But until then - no, I can't recommend buying anything from this site...

What are your thoughts about & Other Stories ?

The customer may be interested in the products but there are some problems that need to be fixed. The company should allow customers use their own currency and price tags for each product so they can calculate how much it will cost them before purchasing anything. I don't think people would shop on a site where they have no idea what something costs, which is why this problem needs to be addressed right away.
