I ordered these shoes after being a bit disappointed with the Salomon Men's X Ultra 3 GTX Trail Running Shoes. While the Salomons are good shoes, for $150 I expect great shoes and in that regard the Peregrine 8s are a treat! They fit snugly, have decent flex, and grip like hell on all trail surfaces I've tested, wet and dry. I wear them for hiking and jogging. I was able to run uphill on a wet, mulched trail while staying on the balls of my feet and had no slipping or loss of traction. They cut into trails, offer great traction even on slick, rocky surfaces, and do a great job no matter what style you're enjoying the trails with. Highly recommended.
