Buy a special key for the 2017 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel. Then locate the filter above the drive shaft in front of the spare tire. Using a wrench, unscrew the filter cap about 3 turns or until you decide to finish it by hand. Then remove the wrench and take a 1 gallon ziplock bag. Then cover the filter assembly with the bag and unscrew by hand while holding the bag over the filter. Eventually it will weaken so that the fuel falls into the bag. About 1 liter falls into the bag. Once the cap is fully unscrewed, gently pull straight down. The filter pulls out the tube that protrudes from the center of the filter. Take everything off, close your bag, slide out of the car and the rest will show. After installing the new one, let the car run for 60 seconds before starting to fill the fuel system. This is a 10 minute job that only requires a special wrench and a ratchet attached to it. The filter itself was perfect.
