I still have two pairs of Sanus speaker stands. These two couples are very strong. This pair of stands is smaller. Due to their construction, they are designed for lighter satellite loudspeakers. They are rated for speakers weighing up to 10 pounds. I use them with a pair of Axiom Quad-4 surround speakers that weigh about 9.5 pounds. These coasters barely hold them (with some issues). The problems are that the size and weight of the base is the limit for speakers of this weight. There is a significant risk of capsizing. If you have small children or naughty pets then most likely you will not be happy with these stands unless you have very light speakers. The second issue is the plastic screw used to adjust the height. It just isn't strong enough to hold around 10lb speakers at all times. To solve both problems, I had to turn the speakers as low as possible to lower the center of gravity and bypass the height adjustment screw. It's fine in my room, but otherwise I'd have to return these and look for something more solid in design and weight. Overall I can only give 3 stars. The quality and durability is definitely inferior to my Sanus bookshelf speakers which are just great.
