Review on Magellan Maestro 3250 3 5 Inch Navigator by Brian Graham

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Durability: Not good for car GPS

I bought this item in late 2008, early 2009 Magellan had to replace it. It stopped completely in early 2010, not before I paid for a Traffic Links subscription and purchased a new OEM charging cable direct from Magellan. After calling Magellan to inquire about a possible repair, I offered to pay. I've been told they don't do repairs but can trade them in for a new one as part of their "loyalty program". The price was higher than I could get online and of course the unit sold was refurbished and resold. I sent them the device twice for recycling with a nice note attaching the documentation for the five Magellan devices I bought and telling them my loyalty is higher than theirs. The package went to the returns department and company office and was returned to me twice unopened. How do you like the customer support? I downloaded the Motion X app on my iPhone 3g and I'm happier than a standard GPS device, and it's only $30 with constant updates. DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE! YOU WILL REGRET A YEAR LATER!

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Almost never
