The torx head is much better than the square one.
They worked very well in composite and PT decking. None came out, and the ones I had to remove came out easily. They are excellent for most applications. If you're using a tool like me to "hide" fasteners on the edge of a deck, I recommend buying longer, narrower #15 Torx bits than the ones that come with these screws: screws are easier to install and fewer likely to break. adjacent board.
