Good way to use spacers we threw away

My wife and I own a cleaning business where we use large 10 foot cleaning sponges. The cleaning pads have a 4 inch cutout that we just threw away. Now let's keep them and use this nozzle to clean them. My only complaint is that the stock is smooth, which limits the amount of pressure that can be applied. If you turn the chuck on your drill press, this is not a problem.
