An oil filter was installed on a Honda Civic that was either too tight or too long for this tool to easily remove. Here's what I like about it: 1. Magnets hold the tool on the end of the filter when you want to rotate it.2. The jaws are spring loaded and fit snugly against the filter even before pressure is applied3. The jaws lock instantly when the ratchet applies torque. This is important when there is very little room to turn the ratchet - it must immediately apply turning force in a tight arc to unscrew the filter.4. The jaws accept a fairly thin filter installed by the latest magazine. I don't use these guys anymore because they overtightened the drain plug and overtightened the low pass filter.
