It's definitely 100% cotton but with some issues. The first pluses are that it copes well with glazes, has good texture and gives a bright look to the paint. There was minimal fatigue. But the revision never got to the point where the paper could no longer be painted over and corrected. I think that would be fine for a more modern watercolor artist using multimedia and line art. BUT it has no dimensions. If the watercolor paint dries a little, it CANNOT be lifted. I've seen other reviews online saying the same thing. In general, cotton paper is more difficult to pick up, but the ink adheres to this paper within a few seconds. This can be very difficult if you make a mistake or a darker wash dries out in a way you don't like. You can still make great drawings with it, but you have to be careful what colors you use. If you're a watercolor artist who takes color slowly in light strokes, this might be a good choice for you. It also comes with a very nice knife for cutting paper and the thickness is as advertised.
