We live aboard our 46ft boat and have been constantly on the move since August 2016. These binoculars were bought as a Christmas present last year and we now have about a year and over 1500 nautical miles to test them. In summary – ANY person who picks up binoculars and presses the stabilizer button says "WOW” the first time they use it. We have another high-end unstabilized binocular on board that collects the light a bit better at dusk, but 90% of the time we use Fujinon Techno if we're not already using it. The extra zoom plus stabilization make them the best choice. I was curious how the batteries would last - we use rechargeable batteries and they last a very long time so battery life wasn't an issue. I'll replace them if they ever go overboard (although they do require a collar to swim and are considered waterproof (we weren't brave enough to test those claims ourselves)). UPDATE: 11/2018 - On the way from Alaska to Mexico, the binoculars jumped off the rack onto the ground. The stabilization system still works but I suspect it's an alignment issue as they no longer focus accurately. My previous experience of sending in a non-warranty Fuji product for repair was so unfortunate that I decided to repair it myself but to no avail. Now the solution is to buy another pair of binoculars from the same brand or a different one (or live with poor focusing). The moral of the story is that once you've fallen in love with binoculars, don't leave them unattended on a counter in rough seas as they're not very shockproof.
