Review on ✂️ Cut and Snip with Ease: OXO Good Grips Multi-Purpose Kitchen and Herbs Scissors by Andre Pendergrass

Needed to replace 20 year old Henckels and 2 year old Zyliss kitchen scissors. Tried a newer model from Henckels but they didn't seem to be as good quality as the ones from 20 years ago. We also wanted the Shear to be disassembled for cleaning (like the Zyliss, but the Zyliss "spring" is broken). Our kitchen shears are often used to cut and trim raw meat, so we wanted a model that could be taken apart for cleaning. Reviews of other more expensive scissors showed that these models came apart too easily if the user did not intend to disassemble them (i.e. they were used for cutting or simply put away) and we excluded these models. OXO Scissors work smoothly and cut cleanly - previously they've been used for carving up pork roasts for braising, separating pork ribs, carving up multiple whole chickens (at the joints, between the breastbone and along the spine). ). Without a spring mechanism, using scissors requires a little more effort, but that minimal amount of effort isn't enough to tire normal kitchen prep. In order to separate the blades for cleaning, the user has to spread the scissors much wider than usual when cutting, so it is unlikely that they could accidentally separate. But since they are disassembled, they can be easily cleaned and disinfected. I would highly recommend the OXO Utility Scissors - they are durable, well built and constructed, handy for everyday kitchen prep and at a great price.
