Broken after 6 months

Purchased in September. The handle is plastic and doesn't seem very durable. The plastic handle has already broken, making the scissors almost useless. Very disappointed with the quality

  • Sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Great discount on kitchen scissors.

I had similar kitchen shears from another manufacturer that cost over $130. These shears work the same way (although I'm not trying to cut quarters with them), take them apart the same way, and cost less than $20. Love these, would buy again. Someone said they had bad ergonomics - I don't feel that when I use them.

Rusted after less than 1 month of use

These Oxo kitchen scissors are easy to use and have an overall nice feel. My husband is very comfortable with them. However, the grip rubs on the knuckle of my thumb and I cannot use it for a long time. After 1 month of use hand washing only they started rusting on the ends and the hinge. I am extremely disappointed.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Crumpled

Attention: cutlery and knife accessories

The two sides come apart too easily and have already separated twice when I just lifted them from the dish rack and the sharp edge cut my shin. Something with sharp blades shouldn't be so fragile. I understand the purpose of keeping separations simple for cleaning purposes, but there must be a better mechanism to keep them intact. I'm a big fan of other OXO products but they are dangerous. The handles are comfortable and the blades are sharp, sharp enough to cut your foot. :-(

Pros
  • even old-fashioned

Difficult to use and keeps falling apart

I've been using the kitchen scissors for three days now. During that time I've washed them 4 times, used them once to cut chicken and 3 times to cut other things in the kitchen. They fell apart every time I used them. Not only did the regular ones fall apart, which is disappointing, but fell apart with somersaults and (once) a squirt of raw chicken juice. This was very disappointing and annoying. But there was even worse! To cut a chicken you have to open the blades very wide, which leads to…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • A few small things

The food feels, flavorful, well done. The handles are not ergonomic.

Maybe someone can explain to me why I seem to be getting the kitchen shears that everyone loves but I hate them. I'm not picky. I want sharp, comfortable, and something I can adjust if they need to be tightened. So much junk that gets 5 stars and 9000 reviews on Revain works for about three months. The edges are then not trimmed as there is no lag screw. Or they don't separate, leaving dirt and food caught in the hinge joint. It's good. Sharp, adjustable, may fall apart. Only four stars because

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Expensive

Excellent kitchen scissors

I bought them 2 years ago and am buying them now. I have no idea where they went but I suspect my son accidentally threw them away. I have a few pieces of cutlery but they don't disassemble so I only use them for kibble, veggies etc. I've always used them for packing meat and meat or anything that I think needs sanitizing. after usage. They fell apart and I just put them in the cutlery basket in the dishwasher. I would say I have washed them in the dishwasher at least 4 days a week for the past

Pros
  • Kitchen and dining room
Cons
  • Not bad

Bought in 2015 and reviewed over 6 years later so this is a long term review :) Sharp ergonomic handles and comfortable to use in use. However, I am currently looking for a replacement for a pair of kitchen scissors with a fixed hinge. Sliding design may look attractive, but the design is not reliable enough. Over time the loop will loosen causing the two blades to no longer press firmly together, cutting action will be lost making cutting thin/slippery and/or slimy materials (thin plastic…

Must have in kitchen

Needed to replace 20 year old Henckels and 2 year old Zyliss kitchen scissors. Tried a newer model from Henckels but they didn't seem to be as good quality as the ones from 20 years ago. We also wanted the Shear to be disassembled for cleaning (like the Zyliss, but the Zyliss "spring" is broken). Our kitchen shears are often used to cut and trim raw meat, so we wanted a model that could be taken apart for cleaning. Reviews of other more expensive scissors showed that these models came apart too
