Review on NETGEAR FVG318 ProSafe 802.11G Wireless VPN Firewall 8: Complete Network Security Solution by Geoff Foster

This is a great wireless router, way above average. It has several disadvantages, which I will discuss later. What's good: It has many features - wired ports, WiFi, VPN. It's pretty easy to set up, especially if you're savvy with the internet. Not-So-Good Stuff: The web configurator is good, but a bit oddly organized, especially for content filtering. The screenshots all work but are a bit confusing. Content filtering works well but isn't as flexible as I was hoping. I bought it to keep kids away from video games. Content filtering is good for this, but it's inflexible. You can allow access at certain times of the day and block access to certain websites, but you cannot block access to certain websites at certain times of the day. All or nothing. Content filtering works well, but if you try to filter out more than a few words, you'll find webpages load slower because the router has to scan them for blocked words. paid price am satisfied. I wish it would do a little more for content filtering, but for the price, it's a pretty good deal.
