Review on Black Rugged Ridge 18003.12 Skid Plate for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ Steering Box by Michael Colley

I ordered this sled because the TJ's steering is in the perfect spot for driving around the track. The discount arrived in perfect condition and the installation was quite easy. The included nut with tack welded extension was the hardest part of the install - trying to thread it onto the screw holding the end of the 8" wire took me about 20 minutes to finally get it right. If you're less patient than me, you might consider clamping and welding it along that tongue. Without a bolt, the skid plate box won't hang tightly on the frame - believe me, I've thought about it. Haven't had a chance to test it yet so can't speak to its durability but it's just as thick and feels just as durable as any on the market so for the money and the quiet I'm very satisfied.
