Review on Dynatron K17 ๐Ÿ’จ Cooling Fan with Heatsink by Raymond Simmons

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good fan with a big improvement over stock fans and manufacturers seem to be listening and improving it

I used this fan to replace the stock fan that comes with the Intel I5-4670K. I've noticed that some recent CPU intensive games have pushed the CPU into the 90-95 C range, which isn't great. The Haswell CPU family starts with thermal management to protect the CPU in the range of 90 to 100 ยฐC. When my CPU hit 100 degrees, this cooler was on its way. I stopped all high performance CPU activity until it arrived. Since I just installed this cooler with the included components, the highest temperature I've seen was 68C in the same game with high CPU load. This is a significant improvement over the stock fan. I've been watching this for several days. I have read some of the previous reviews on this product and from people who have indicated that they need a special tool to turn the screws. The manufacturers must have stopped there, because the screws have a standardized Phillips head. In addition, I also remember some reviews mentioning that without instructions it can be difficult to figure out how to install the supplied back motherboard mounting brackets and some concerns that people who don't know , your motherboard can short out if they are installed correctly. Again, it looks like the manufacturer was listening, as the side that presses against the motherboard has peelable adhesive to attach the bracket to the motherboard. I haven't encountered the rib and screw issue that some people have reported. I thought about that when I installed them and thought maybe using a larger Phillips head screwdriver might be a problem. I haven't encountered any such problems either. I used this on an ASROCK Fatal1ty Z97 Killer motherboard. break and otherwise be compromised. I would buy this cooler again.
