CAST IRON GRILL/MAX K 2-IN-1 GRILL is a convenient way to enjoy the benefits of cast iron grilling on a variety of hobs. WHAT YOU GET The MAX K/GRIDDLE is 20" wide, 10" deep and 1" thick. The block is a single piece of cast iron, one side is flat and the other side has vertical ribs. There is one on each side "Gutter" is slightly recessed along the length to collect grease and there are cut-out cast iron handles at each end of the grill/pan. It has no moving parts and the entire unit is made entirely of cast iron. HOW IT WORKS This grill- and pan combo offers the benefits of cast iron grilling (natural non-stick surface, retains heat and flavors longer after each use) on a variety of surfaces.Weighing almost 8 ½ pounds it is very durable and its size makes it suitable for both the kitchen and the kitchen (oven, some ovens) and outdoors (barbecue or fire pit) I like the two-in-one option, where the unit can be used on either a flat cooking surface or a grilling surface with thick, deep ribs can be folded. The appliance heats up as expected and stays hot (advantage when cooking on cast iron). I mostly use this on my smoker grill as it reduces cooking time and adds flavor. I also appreciate the large cooking surface that fits perfectly in my grill and oven. Built-in handles make cleaning easy...you just have to wait a bit for it to cool enough to handle without gloves. While this grill/pan can be used for almost anything, it works better on some stovetops than others. While I can use this on my flat stove, I'm a little wary of mishandling the grill/pan and dropping it on the glass. Overall, this grill/pan adds a nice dimension to our outdoor grilling. This is a simple, well-designed cooking tool that can be used in many different ways.
