When I first opened it I wasn't impressed. A small thin plastic case with a tiny circuit board and a couple of wires to connect my drive. They didn't even provide me with mounting screws for the drive! I found some drive screws, inserted my drive, closed it, and connected it to power and ethernet. I can set up this NVR by connecting a monitor and a mouse to it. I can also use my computer and web browser. The Android app they use also allows me to make changes. I was a little surprised that the NVR uses a web interface that I'm familiar with. I had no healing for learning at all. I immediately started setting up my cameras. I maxed it out with 10 cameras. Combination of 4K, 5MP, 4MP and 1080P cameras from different camera manufacturers. This little guy managed to set them all up like a champ. The NVR is quick to respond despite recording 10 cameras simultaneously 24/7. I have very little latency when communicating with the NVR. I can load archive footage and don't see any issues with live recordings or major delays when I press my commands. It actually handles H.265 encoding correctly. If my camera supports it I put them in H.265 mode, if they don't they stay in H.264 mode. This NVR handles them with no problem. It really impressed me. With the NVR app I can see ALL 10 of my cameras when I'm out. It was easy to set up and I had already tested it extensively from home. This only lets me see 9 of them at once, I have to scroll right to see the 10th camera, but I can live with that. I can open any camera in full screen and get an amazingly clear picture with sound. This proves that I can't trust my first impressions of everything. My first impression was that it would be a waste of time and effort. This DVR turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for when I ordered it. A good 4K NVR that can work with 10 cameras simultaneously! 10 cameras, 4K NVR that works great for less than $69. Who would have thought? I'm VERY happy with this NVR, I'm sure you are too. I give 5 stars!
