My cars are old and don't have built in USB ports. An unexpected feature that makes it better than a regular USB port is the voltage indicator. If your car battery has failed or there is some other problem with your car's electrical system, this charger's USB port will show low or high voltage. It's a nice feature that I wasn't expecting and that could save me a lot of trouble. Bad batteries often give little warning of an imminent failure. This should indicate a voltage drop sooner. I also take one for my truck.
