So far, so good! The modem has a large, well-ventilated case that seems to eliminate the need for a fan. While other reviews mention heat issues, downloading large files and streaming a few HDTVs at the same time hardly heats up the top of this unit. In terms of performance, I have Spectrum's Up to 100Mbps service. . Speed tests consistently show download speeds of 115 Mbps and upload speeds of 11.3 Mbps. I don't know how "raw" the speed is compared to the upgraded MODEM, but I'm happy with it. FWIW, I know my old TWC/Spectrum service with the same MODEM and cable was "up to 15 Mbps" and tested normally at 25 up and 2.5 down. Based on that, and if my calculations are correct, my "raw" speed is about 70Mbps with a 45Mbps MODEM improvement.
