Review on Street Notes: Photography Assignments and Workbook by Kelsey Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value activity book: low price

I've read several reviews of Eric Kim's Notes series complaining about the price. They lack value. There are only a few pages in these books, but there are many tasks that require excitement from you. I've been shooting amateur since 1983 and professional (occasionally) since 1989. I recommend this book to both beginners and experts. I've been doing street photography for a little over a year and it's fun, rewarding and challenging. Each task is a little vignette about the ability, the philosophy behind it, and the opportunity to do more than just get the job done. but write about it. The latter is just as important, if not more so, than the action. You should think about a photo assignment or exercise. I prefer paper copies. If you opt for a digital version, take a small notebook with you to put in your camera bag when you go out. In order to get the most out of this little booklet, you need to be able to interact with the tasks and have something to think about and watch as you progress. When I was a teenager learning to shoot, my father gave me a small job that helped me grow. At the same time, the editors of the school newspaper gave me tasks that I also had to grow on. It's not overpriced. This is a person who offers value by making a living by offering great resources. I'm not good at reviews but I have to say it's great, helpful, fun and well worth it.

Pros
