I bought this to have a USB backup for our phones and to keep the generator start battery charged. This solar panel generates more than enough electricity to get the job done. The main problem lies with the controller. A battery must be connected in order for you to see the display and for the USB ports to work. You can remove the battery after the display is connected to the network and information will continue to be displayed. But the USB ports will disappear. CURRENTLY! When the sun goes down or a shadow covers the panel, the display disappears and doesn't come back until the battery is connected. I plan to purchase the solar panel and controller separately in hopes this doesn't happen again.
