Review on 2 lbs Melt and Pour Soap Base in Castile Formula - Our Earth's Secrets by Kelly Caballes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hardens very quickly

This melt and pour castile soap is excellent and I love the natural ingredients. I'm especially glad that it's propylene glycol free, like most other soap bases from Our Earth's Secrets (and quite a lot of other companies, to be honest). Please note that this castile soap base dries and hardens a lot. fast - it solidified as I poured it into molds, which I've not experienced with olive oil, glycerine, or hemp oil soap bases. Therefore, before pouring, make sure that the soap base is very hot and completely melted. Because white is completely opaque, you can't easily tell if there are small pieces of soap left that haven't completely melted. So mix thoroughly and melt it very well before slowly pouring it into the mold. Otherwise, this company has very good melt and pour soap bases and the hemp oil base is my favorite so far. I highly recommend it. The price gets a bit higher if you are a regular user and I would prefer if they offer a subscription and save on their products. I bet customers would be much happier with this option and more likely to buy regularly.

Pros
  • (25% to 30% Grade A Kosher Olive Oil) Olive oil is considered by many to be a soap that moisturizes the skin and creates great lather. Castile soap is ancient soap that was made hundreds of years ago.
Cons
  • Obsolete
