Great straws for slush. Durable and practical.

Now that it's summer I'm thinking about fruit and vegetable puree and I need straws. I looked online for plastic-free straws and settled on paper straws because they come in the length and diameter I need. According to the label, these webake paper straws are 7.75 inches long and 0.39 inches in diameter. The length is actually 7 7/8 inches (20 cm); Diameter 1cm (10mm). I don't think they're fat enough for boba tea, but they're perfect for smoothies, smoothies, slappies, and frappuccinos. They come in a box. I chose white straws instead of Barber Pole colors because I was wondering if the color would dissolve in my mouth or in a drink if the straw was left in liquid for a long time. And white goes with everything. These are strong straws. Thick as cardboard. They will soften if left in your drink, but this doesn't affect usability. They actually get softer when you put them in your mouth but never fall apart. As an experiment, I left the straw in a glass of water for 12 hours. Some of the straw in the water softened but retained its shape; the water didn't rise far on the straw, so half stayed dry. The whole thing dried almost like new after I took it out of the water. I've found that the straws in my fruit pulp soften and soften faster than in water, which may be due to the acids in the fruit. But they work really well and you don't have to worry about your paper straw falling apart. I really like her. Made in China.
