Review on Brilliant Control Lighting Switch Version by Jared Peck

Tried to kill me and burn down my house

The first installation went really well Easy to do, no problem. A week later I bought a second one - I went to install it and on the second I turned on the power, the fuse blew and I heard a loud bang from the bedroom. Returning to the box, I smell a strong odor of smoke and burn marks are visible on the shiny switch. There are pre-installed screws. Terrible design. I can only imagine that the arc occurred when the electric bolt almost touched the long bolt of the box. Now that they were both charred with burn marks, so was the floor. I can't imagine what would happen if I held that to check the buttons or whatever. Very creepy. After turning off the power, I nervously double-checked to make sure the wires were bare and everything was wrapped in electrical tape - and two of the three switches wouldn't turn on. I replaced the old switch and everything worked fine - so the Brilliant block burned out on its own. I request a replacement and will remove the long screws before turning the power back on and I recommend you do the same.
