Unlike OEM shoes. Not compatible with Honda SZ3 calipers OEM

Although many Honda/Acura models are listed in the compatibility charts, there is a big difference between Carlson 16011 boots with pins and genuine Honda OEM parts as Carlson 16011 -Boots do not fit in the caliper body. On the side that is in contact with the caliper body (as opposed to the side that is in contact with the slide pin), the OEM Honda boot has a raised flange inside the boot that mates with the negative groove on the caliper body . Therefore, the OEM boot is held on both sides by the caliper body and slide pin stem respectively. However, for the other Carlson 16011, the lack of the locking flange mentioned above does not allow for secure attachment in the caliper body. Instead, it only has one side locked with a sliding pen shaft. Once installed, the Carlson 16011 pin boot can be easily removed from the caliper body using a slide pin, exposing the gap between the slide pin and the caliper body, thereby breaking the seal provided by the caliper boot. When the seal is removed, foreign matter such as dirt, sand, brake dust, etc. can enter the gap around the slide pin, corrode the brake lubricant, increase pin wear, and eventually cause the pins to seize inside. caliper. The lack of a retaining flange on the Carlson 16011, which is a reverse engineering error, therefore makes it incompatible with the Honda SZ3 calipers used on the latest North American CRV/Accord/RDX models. Unfortunately, American Honda only sells pin bushings along with caliper piston seals, hollow washers and caliper grease in a kit. Honda Genuine Parts Part Number: 01473-SZ3-A00.
