In the event of a power failure, these lamps will light up immediately. During Hurricane Laura, huge trees fell down right in front of my house and I could feel the house shaking. I didn't know what kind of damage was happening outside, but I was grateful to be able to safely hide in the closet with my pup. There was no electricity, but one of those bulbs hung in the closet, filling our small space with bright, warm light. which somehow made things less scary. We had a power outage for a few days but with another bulb in the lamp I could easily walk around the house with the lamp and put it in any room that needed light. These bulbs are handy, rechargeable and extremely useful and reassuring when the lights go out. Thanks very much!
