I am more of a collector than a user of these compact monoculars but took one on a long trip yesterday and was very disappointed with its performance. It was too blurry. I then decided to give it another try with a quality, compact monocular that was easy to carry in my pocket. I started with the ones I already had and found my Carson 7x18 Close Focus 10" to be the best of the bunch. Unfortunately I couldn't find it again here even though I bought it from Revain. But I have this one found here Carson model so I had to leave my review here I can add that I also have this model but its optical characteristics are much inferior to my 7x18 model In any case, of the six compact monoculars that I have own, my carson 6x18 monocular is the only one i will be using in the future, in fact i might end up throwing away the other five, they are just not acceptable and they take up too much room in my monocular/binoculars drawer wish I could name them all, but I think that would go against Revain's recommendations. In any case, my final word on the Carson 6x18 compact monocular is that it too seems to be the monocular choice at least in its price range.
