Very cute - camera and photo

As an amateur astronomer and professor of astronomy, I am used to evaluating binoculars and telescopes. This little monocular does the job perfectly. The one we bought gives a sharp picture, which means the optics (lenses) are of pretty good quality. The focal length range and the angle of view correspond to those specified. There are other higher magnification monoculars such as 10x, but they necessarily have a smaller field of view and give a "shakier" image when hand-held. This is small…

Great for poor eyesight!

I have a visual impairment (in the form of a somewhat severe visual snow syndrome). I have a hard time seeing anything in the distance or reading the menu in restaurants (which are above the cash register). I've been using them for over half a year now and they're great for those things and reading street signs. I even lend it to my family members when we go camping together or when we are out in nature to spot birds and other wildlife. The product is so useful and amazing that I now have 3 of…

Pros
  • Not a bad job
Cons
  • So far so good

Best monocular I have ever owned

This is the BEST monocular I have ever owned. The focus area is incredibly small and large, allowing it to focus on almost anything. For example, it can focus on a computer keyboard 10 inches from the front edge of the monocular, and the field of view is roughly the same diameter as a button on the monocular. Keyboard. From 3 feet away I can see individual pixels on my computer monitor, they're still small but I can't see them with the naked eye. The field of view at 10 inches is about 3/4 inch

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Damaged

This is the best of my six compact monoculars

I am more of a collector than a user of these compact monoculars but took one on a long trip yesterday and was very disappointed with its performance. It was too blurry. I then decided to give it another try with a quality, compact monocular that was easy to carry in my pocket. I started with the ones I already had and found my Carson 7x18 Close Focus 10" to be the best of the bunch. Unfortunately I couldn't find it again here even though I bought it from Revain. But I have this one found here…

Sharpening is very good

It turns out that there should be a considerable difference between "7x" and "8x". I have binoculars that are 8x magnification and with that number objects appear much closer when viewed. Objects appear *hardly* closer with this monocular. I constantly remove it from my eyes and double check because it's hard to understand how little the distance changes. However, I give this monocular credit for making subjects look MUCH HONEST. My eyesight needs some improvement - maybe I need new glasses…

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • There are nuances

HDE had the best magnification and as other posters said

Considered buying a $65 mini telescope replica and instead decided to play three separate $15 scopes just to see that I could get one that meets my minimum requirements (mostly small and light). I ordered three: HDE® 15x-55x Zoom 21mm Compact Monocular Seller: HDE Carson CloseUp 7x18mm Monocular Close-Focus (CF-718) Seller: Revain.com LLC Celestron UpClose G2 10x25 Monocular Black (71213) In short, I was pleasant surprised by all three. None of them were cat meows, but for $15 I didn't expect…

Comparison of three monoculars

I was surprised at how great this thing is! I bought this 7x18mm monocular and the following two 10x25mm monoculars to compare: Orion 08447 10x25 E-Series Monocular (Black) Celestron UpClose G2 10x25 Monocular, Black (71213) I'm sure if I want more magnification on the 10 x 25mm monocular. Here's a picture comparing the sizes and my score out of three. I didn't compare them on a cloudy day with less available light.1. Carson 7 x 18 mm: length 2.75 inches, weight 46 grams including strap…
