OEMTools has redesigned this tool to make it applicable to "a wider range of vehicles". On the older model, the foot that presses on the valve spring is attached to the instrument with a pin. The new one is in two parts and the foot has to be held in place by hand. This can work normally when the engine is outside the vehicle. However, this cannot be used on a Ford 4.6 2 valve engine while still in the truck. I replaced the OEM 24434 with a brand that still uses the leg pin and it works great. OEMTools needs to revert to their previous model.
