I have owned 18-21 foot boats for over 15 years and have always used standard 3 strand nylon lines as they are cheaper and easier to loop. splice. While 3/8" lines are ideal for boats of this size, I usually choose 1/2" lines because I think the larger diameter makes it easier to grab the line. This dock line is my first experience with double braid line and I think I made the right choice with this brand. They look nice, are relatively soft and flexible and are very comfortable on the hands. It is also practical that they are already supplied with eyelets. I will be using one that I recently bought as a general purpose rope for a 10 foot flat water boat. This line is redundant when used as a dock line for such a small boat, but is ideal for launching the boat and pulling it back onto the trailer. The 3 strand nylon cords I used. I look forward to using them on future trips.
