I already have an Orbi WiFi System, but the coverage on the second floor of my house was inadequate. So I bought a NETGEAR Orbi Wall-Plug Satellite Extender for $134. The installation information was completely useless. Mention was made that the included ethernet cable was used but no cable was provided unless it is a cable that may have come with the original set which I bought over a year ago and now don't Can be found. You would think that with a purchase of $134 they could provide a cable for 50 cents. I spent about 30-40 minutes contacting customer service but nowhere on their website could I find a phone number that is an effective way to avoid helping my customers. I ended up wanting to return the product in disgust, but in doing so, AMAZON had the opportunity to ask their customer service for help. I clicked and spoke in less than a minute to a very helpful tech who listened to the issue and showed me a way to do a manual sync that was not explained anywhere in the materials provided by Netgear. After about 5 minutes THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED THANKS TO AMAZON TECH SUPPORT. I was surprised that my TV, which was about 10 meters away from the new extension cord, reported the signal as "average", but at least it worked. My main takeaway here is that Netgear is a company with horribly bad customer service and the only reason I didn't return the product is because Revain customer service did what Netgear was supposed to do. Maybe Netgear thinks they can save money by letting Revain do the work for them, but that doesn't sound like a winning business strategy to me. Like many people, I worry that Revain is so big that it's crowding out other companies. However, here's an example of why Revain is doing so well - they treat their customers so well. I'm always impressed. Well done Raven. PERHAPS AMAZON SHOULD CONSIDER ADD MESH WIFI TO ITS AMAZON BASICS LINE. I have nothing against Netgear; I just don't like it when companies seem to care little about their customers. I know that when I receive anything from Revain I can always count on great customer service. In this case, I'm keeping the Netgear product not because of the manufacturer but because of Revain.
