Review on πŸ”Œ D-Link Outdoor Smart Wi-Fi Plug with 2 Outlets, 1 USB Port, No Hub Required, Works with Google Assistant – Black (DSP-W320-US) by Jim Cox

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Dead on arrival and then bingo, it worked!

First of all, it wouldn't turn on at all, even when trying to set it up. While the USB port worked, it never went into setup mode or even allowed for a full center button reset. I do not understand. ***Updated*** I've been playing around with this further to figure out why it doesn't show life when online. Then I thought about testing if the two outlets were working like the USB port and you know when I plugged the power cord into a simple lightbulb it magically woke up and went into setup mode. This was at the time the instructions were correct how quickly it installed. I had no idea why it was literally playing dead until I verified that it actually had AC running through it like any other power strip. do what the (final) instructions say, that if you want to control this thing via voice, you'll also need to present it as a new device in your Alexa app or any AI in order for it to work as a speakerphone on your network. If you don't have an AI turning things on and off for you with a voice command, then the recommended phone app to use to install on your network is a great remote control for it. I'm glad it isn't defective and that I avoided the hassle of sending it back, but were it not for my stubbornness in troubleshooting, it would have returned with the first one star rating I gave it because it's a DOA department is to be precise.
