🔌 D-Link Outdoor Smart Wi-Fi Plug with 2 Outlets, 1 USB Port, No Hub Required, Works with Google Assistant – Black (DSP-W320-US) Review

Not compatible with SmartLife App. The D-Link app is rough. The device will not connect to your WiFi network if your WiFi password contains spaces or special characters. Who doesn't have more complex passwords these days? I have too many devices connected to my 2.4GHz SSID to change my password and I don't want to use another smart device app to manage events.

This plug can only be programmed to work same day on a 24 hour schedule. You cannot program it to turn on at 5:00 p.m. one day and turn off at 1:00 a.m. (night hours) the next morning. This is the same silly programming error I've never found in any outdoor smart plug. Considering the price, it's a crime. I would highly recommend any other outdoor Wi-Fi plug/socket other than this one.

I am having trouble connecting my device to my Wi-Fi network using the MyDlink Android app. After several weeks of correspondence with the dlink support mentioned in the package, with screenshots and error messages, they obviously had no answer regarding an error in the application or a defective device. I had so many problems connecting to the device. After speaking to tech support, I suspected it had something to do with my passwords. My WiFi passwords are a full sentence with some special characters including spaces. This device cannot recognize special characters, it only accepts alphanumeric passwords. In other words, no spaces, the old way. It's easy to hack. Not good for an IoT device. Thank goodness I only wanted to use it to turn on the lights in my garden otherwise I wouldn't trust it

Nice little device for outdoor use. I actually made a small bracket for it so it attaches to the underside of my patio side table and has a USB plug for charging your phone. It was the only device I could find with a built-in USB port. With that in mind it charges very well with 2 amp output. One downside is that the Wi-Fi automation is heavily tied to the proprietary D-Link mobile app, so it doesn't work with my Vera home automation box. It's okay because I didn't buy it for that reason…

First of all, it wouldn't turn on at all, even when trying to set it up. While the USB port worked, it never went into setup mode or even allowed for a full center button reset.
