Review on Rugged Ridge 11210 15 Aluminum 1997 2006 by Brian Manfre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks great and solid though.

Really wanted to give this product 5 stars, it is very durable and looks GREAT. It's good if you put them on. This is a job that will take 20-30 minutes maximum. One side fits like a glove, absolutely no problem; in about 5 minutes. Now let's go to the other side. We barely finger tightened the nut on the underside of the floor; everything went wrong here. This thing was stuck, it wasn't moving. We couldn't get this thing to take it off or keep trying to put it on. First let me mention that they sent two nuts of different sizes. This really pissed off the ex-Marine who helped with this project because he thinks the woman needs to take care of her tools. Let's get back to the stuck nut. I have no other word for it than "hang on". We used all the manpower and tools we had to just try and take it off without messing it up or breaking it. Remember the Marine who was in charge, at this point he was fuming and calling for backup (unfortunately for me, the other Marine, you know what that can lead to?). At the moment we have very few options. We're standing outside in pre-summer weather, Arkansas humidity, and feasting on mosquitoes the size of buzzards. After two and a half hours of saws and a vise, the thing was finally removed. The underside of the latch looks like it survived a war and is now sealed with a couple of zip ties, awaiting the arrival of replacement parts. Until then I had to keep the two of them away from my jeep with anything that could be flammable because they want to set it on fire. :) Once I have spare parts I hope to add a star or two. Edit:: Sorry I forgot about that much sooner. Revain did an excellent job and quickly dispatched a complete replacement. I think we may have gotten a bad batch the first time because the replacement was done about 30 minutes later and installed by the same marine (who didn't catch fire, thank goodness). You just look bad! They're so much better than the original crap they carry.
