I had an old Garmin GPS before I bought this one and loved it. But it was a bit older and didn't have some of the features available now. The 850 is great, it does everything you want it to, right down to navaid, but it has 2 problems. First (and biggest issue in the butt) you have to completely remove the battery to turn it off completely. So if you don't want to use it for a while, e.g. B. until your next trip, you can't just turn it off with a switch. The power button just puts it in standby mode and drains the battery all the time. Well, that's fine if you're going to be using it again in a couple of hours, since it'll charge faster, but it sucks if you're not going to use it for a day or two, since your battery will be at 0% by then don't actually take it out of the device. Second, I can't get it loud enough to hear on the freeway with the radio on. So I have to turn off the radio completely to hear directions.
