Part: Right Front Window Adjusters At a fraction of the OEM cost this seems like a solid replacement. I ran into a few issues during installation which I resolved with a simple change. Installation instructions are not provided, but it is easy to find videos on the internet that describe the replacement steps. Since this item does not include a power window motor, you will need to either remove the motor from the old power window assembly or provide a different one. I found that the brackets did not line up with the holes on my E46 window regulator. The motor will stop before it can rotate fully under the brackets as shown. Instead of modifying the OEM window regulator motor, I decided to enlarge the mounting holes on the new regulator using a dremel and a small sanding attachment. I sealed the gearbox with tape to prevent metal shavings from entering (see picture). This allowed me to attach the motor to the ESC mounts (see picture). Also noticed that the governor's outer support arm (without gear) had a sharp burr on the outer edge (see picture). Fearing premature window regulator wear, I sanded and re-greased the edge. The cables on the old BMW regulator guides run over lubricated seals. This regulator has no seals and is well lubricated (see picture). Before installation, I liberally lubricated all cable runs. I used general purpose lithium as that was all I had on hand. I checked the function several times immediately after installing the regulator and again after reinstalling the door panel and other parts. The regulator works well; time will tell if it holds up. If there are any problems I will update the review.
