The size of this product is perfect. The screen diagonal is given as 3.7 inches (diagonal like a TV). I like that it shows the time and date while I keep it on my desk next to my computer for reference. In low light, the viewing angles are good. The backlight has horrible viewing angles, and to turn it on just press the lightbulb icon below. I want it to be an on/off function so I can press it after turning it on. The device has a stand on the back that allows it to stand on a flat surface. It also has a small hook for hanging if you prefer to mount it on the wall. To insert the 2 supplied AAA batteries, the footrest must be opened. It's a bit uncomfortable, but not a deal breaker. I've had this product for almost a month now and I'm happy to report that the batteries aren't dead yet (because, let's be honest, some devices drain batteries very quickly). The buttons on the back are used to set the time. and date - the instructions that came with the kit tell you how and are very helpful. I bought this because I have asthma and have found that higher humidity makes it harder for me to breathe. I wanted to be able to gauge the most comfortable areas for myself so I could adjust the cooling and heating to draw moisture out of the air. ) at temperature and +/- 3% at relative humidity. Unfortunately, I don't have another thermometer to confirm this accuracy, but I don't think most people will be able to tell, for example, a small difference in temperature or humidity, especially since every room in your house is likely to have a slightly different temperature. This thermometer is clearly not for when you need very accurate readings and I believe this is fully covered in the description so you know what you are buying. I think for general home use this is a great thermometer and hygrometer if, as with any device, you have to be aware of its limitations. If you want a simple sensor that shows the current temperature and humidity, you can find one at other stores like Target, Home Depot, or even Revain for a lot less money (somewhere around $9). . Or, if you're interested in the selection but don't care about the time and date, you can find them for less (about $11). I think it's a great little device and well worth the money, every little feature you need. Otherwise, if you can sacrifice a few things, you might want to consider a cheaper option.
