Corrected incorrect readings. It is very easy to convert to a 4.6 liter tank in a '99 Mercury Grand Marquis. Remove the engine cover, disconnect the connector (other side of the alternator opposite the thermostat housing), remove it with a 19mm deep hex (just loosen the connector). The new one comes with sealant on the threads, fix it and plug it in. On my car, the sensor was at the highest point in the cooling system, so coolant was not leaking. Projects don't get much easier.
